pvd crossover at love parade

at the love parade pre party pvd set. toward the end when he does the transition between Dick van nille - Outside, and Nu NRG - supersonik. how does he switch it up so fast? he switches the bass, middle and high almost instantaniously. maybe he used gains or crossfade?
i have these two vinyls and tried it. it sounded decent but im just curious on how he did it
he did the same in his transition from Massive filterheadz mix to veit - sky (i think thats the song)

when pvD mixes he messes with the bass knobs a lot. At first it's difficult, but practice makes perfect.

Yeah, when PvD pulls it off just right, it's simply AMAZING.

A prime example is at his live@Cream at Amnesia Set.

The transition from "Let There Be Light (JS16 Remix)" to "Aloe P (Mr.Pink Mix)" is probably the most perfect, energetic live transition I've ever heard.

running track: full bass/mid/treble
cued track: no bass/full mid/treble...

wait for an reversed cymbal or an upcoming snareline and in beat:
running track decrease bass immediately
cued track: increase it....

thats it. now slow decrease (for at least 16 or 24 beats) from running track.

nothin' more.

In the case of the Fritz Love Radio Set. 12-07-02 19:00 CET
Paul did it just i explained, but faded completely to the cued track
(Supasonic) when he increased the bass of the track. Dick van Nilles track came with a break of the beat, same effect as a reversed cymbal or snareline).
I was there and everybody in "Volkspark Friedrichshain"/Berlin was able to study that and even talkn to him...distance 1m...hehe

PvD often uses the Pioneer DJM500 or 600 (like at the Pre-Party). There is no kill switch

Btw: The failure while "Exor Part II" was a Red Bull can over the played record...

Man that mix was quite short and a little fraction out imo. That cream amnesia set was full of good tunes but pvd was a bit off on the mixin all night? Dissapointing

haha good stuff
damn you got to see him spin live like that? thats a great chance!
how long does it usually take him to beat match songs that you saw?
and also when he was beat matching was he touching the platter (slow down) and pushing the record to speed up? or was he using the harder way of just pitch slider? just curious thanks!
