There are a LOT of factors that can affect overall sound output in your speakers. I will try to list a few things here, but unless you record the sound so that we can actually hear it, then I don't know how much help we will be.
First off, you weren't clear on when this sound was occuring. Is it only during the transitions, or does it occur all of the time when you are using your TTs. Hmm, well actually, you didn't even say that you had TTs, so what equipment do you have? You will basically have to get very specific with your setup, what equipment you have, how it is set up, if you run any diagnostics on it, when the sound occurs, did it always occur or did it just start recently, etc, etc.
First thing that I would do check all of your cables. Do you have them connected tightly? Are all the speaker cables connected so that they are polarized with eachother (ie the red outlet on your amp goes to the red inlet on your speakers and the same with white, and NOT red to white etc.) If not, this can affect how the sound comes out of your speakers. Also, how big is your room? Is it small enough that if you have turntables, you are causeing a feedback loop? How loud do you have it turned up?
If all of your cables are okay, and you are sure that you aren't causeing feedback into your system (turn the volume down to a resonable level), then try to isolate further where it is coming from.
Hook up a normal cd player to your mixer and play a cd. Does that sound the same or better. If it does sound better, then it is your CD deck or TT. Also, make sure that you check each output on your mixer and not just one. If there is still a problem, then maybe it is your mixer. Hook up the cd player (or TT if you can) directly to your amp. How about now? If it sounds better, then the problem is your mixer. If it still sounds bad, then it may be your amp or speakers.
If you have more than one pair of speakers or another amp, then try switching them out until you eliminate the problem. If you still have a problem, then it is obviously something that you're overlooking, or your speakers just suck Give me more details!! And for future reference, the more information you give us, the better we can help you right from the start! We don't know anything other than what you tell us, so be very descriptive if you want some real help. If any of this helps, then let us know what it is and if not, then tell us what you have tried and maybe it's time for a sound sample!
