The way that I suggest you record and track your mixes is the following:
Use Soundforge to record the mix, then normalize it to increase the volume. After you save the set as one big file, then go through the mix and note the exact times which your transitions end. It is at this time that you want the track to switch. Make sure you don't put the track start time at the begining of the transition or in the middle because it will sound like shit. This is how it is done in the industry anyway.
From there you'll know all of the times of the tracks. These are called cue points, which you can either make a cue file with, or have a program do it for you. Either way, you need these times to track the set.
Programs that will track the set for you include Nero Burning ROM, which I personally use and like very much and plenty of other programs. You can go to www.cnet.com and go to the downloads sections to look at many different shareware programs offered for download.
Depending on the program, you will either need to write a .cue file or you can enter times into the program, as I stated earlier. You can surely find this information pretty easily buy searching for .cue
A good site I just found for you is here:

Then, when you burn your disk, you don't have to worry about burning disk at once (DAO) because you'll only have one track anway!
