hahah, you can watch it!

i was kind of thinking of beatmatching the track, bringing it near the beginning at the end of a 32 beat sequence, cueing it and letting it go...then at the end of that, cut out ch.1 and press the reverse platter button so it goes back to normal..that might sound cool. i'm gonna experiment with that right now. i'll let you know how it goes...

ok i played around with it some...
ok it's really really really hard to get a track that is going backwards to get properly cued into a normally running track. (ch.1 (open) is normal , your beatmatched and cued ch.2 is reverse). but it's easy the other way around. (ch.1 (open) is reverse, ch.2 is cued normally.) this actually sounds pretty cool, if you pick the right tracks. i was playing with dj t.t.hacky - i want you and the middle part, during the break, has a synth that sounds the same reverse and normal. that's a good track to play with.

the question is, getting your open channel into reverse. it doesn't really sound as cool as i had thought to press the reverse button, because it is kinda quick. there's no slow drag.

a beat in reverse isn't a beat... It's sumtin like "WLOEP"... kinda useless to beatmatch with... but, i'm interested in any ideas too...

Maybe the reason you find it useless is because of the type of music you play. That's not a cut-down, just an observation. Playing a record in reverse can produce some interesting sounds but obviously it depends on the style. There are things you could do with breakbeat style records since they sound more interesting when played backwards. Since that's what I spin, I've screwed around with it a few times. Don't try to do too much with it though, just some short tricks. One thing that comes to mind involves having 2 copies of a record and while the live record goes into a break have the 2nd copy cued up in reverse and throw it in.

hmm, sounds cool... but still, if I (for example) have to pay 100$ more for a TT with reverse, I'd go for the tt without reverse + 100$ (I'm greedy )

Mix the other record in on reverse.

At the last 4 beats of the 4th or 8th bar, bring the volume fader up on the reversed track, and turn the bass down on the forward track?

Make sense?

Instead of getting 4 kicks, you get 4 reversed kicks.

Anything else, i'm not sure.

Maybe listening to secret reversed messages from the producers?

ya you can do much with a reverse beat!

try playing a whole song backwards too hehe.. start it from the end and bring it in

it would be intresting to try with marco v recovered.. that melody sounds reversed in the first place haha

also sampling reverse beats is great too

i love fooling around with tt's that have reverse.. too bad they arent club standard.. then id have to throw my tech 12's away haha

You could always mod your tech 12's if you wanted reverse. There's kits for eitehr double tapping your start button or adding an additional reverse button below the pitch fader. A number of DJs have that.
