Ive got quite a lot of vinyl now with too large ( or too small holes ) and I`m wondering how I should cut these holes out. I got the extra thingie on my 1210 m3d ... and I admit it`s quite obvious .. but is there any really smart way to do it as not to fuck up the vinyl? I just pushed out one ( shabby whitelabel ) and I cracked it through the whole damn record. So .. is there any magic way to do this?

My suggestion, although I have not tried this since I havent had this problem, take a pair of scissors, stick it in the hole, and spin it around and try to not exactly cut, but "stretch" out the hole by shredding the plastic away.
OMG that sounds so sexual, ROFL!

hehe ... well .. I need the opinion of someone that has tried this and found a good way to do it, because we`re talking favourite tracks here ... like paul van dyk - for an angel ... old as hell but still peach. So I need people that knows this shit .. don`t wanna make too large a hole beacause then I imagine the whole record to b fucked.

A top tip for playing records where the hole in the vinyl is too large is to place a piece of thin tissue paper (toilet roll works fine ) over the spindle before placing the record on. This takes up the slack space between the vinyl and spindle and allows you to mix without the vinyl moving round at all!
In the past, to enlarge a vinyl hole, I just took a (tapered) pen lid and forced it into the whole, then wiggled it round a bit (repeating the process on the other side). Seemed to do the trick just fine.

If the hole is too small, just put a regular pencil through it and wiggle it a little bit. You don't need more.
If it's too big, just take regular scotch tape and tape a cross over the hole. And then just push that over the spindle. Do the same on the other side. By puncturing the tape, it will wrap itself in the hole and make it tighter...

I use the method with the scissors too, you just make the whole bigger like that but there's no risk of destroying your vinyl

ah thanks a lot. Gonna try to un-slut my naughty records with some tape. So I just tape both sides, run a pencil ( this could get nasty ) through and it will über-fix itself. Great stuff.

i had a few vinyls with too small holes - i fixed the problem by using a really small penknife blade - one which was small enough to go through the hole, using it I gently scraped around the hole until it was large enough.
