Recommendations on beginner equipment?

Just lookin for a decent set of gear, basically best bang for my buck. I need everything, starting from scratch. Im gona use Final Scratch in place of the vinyls, any extra equipment needed for that? Any tips or recommendations anyone has are greatly appreciated.

a mixer?
The VMX300 from behringer is a pretty cheap and very decent model
The DJM500 from pioneer is alot better, but also, alot more expensive. Just my small opinion...

Hey,

First up- I second the vxm-300, its awesome for beginners.

Second- are you looking for CDJ's then, or are you going to spin on vinyls, or just use final scratch??

Hmm, I know, alot of people will suggest you to get 2 SL1200's... But, If you ask me, those are no beginner TT's... I'd try the ST90 from stanton, pretty decent machine if you ask me.

yo man def go with the vmx-300....great beginner mixer....and for the price its really the best there is...cant beat it...

heres a deal right here....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...gory=14980&rd=1

as for the tables i would save up and get what you want and are planning on using from now till the end or whatever...

doesnt really seem worth it to buy some shitty half ass decks and then decide later that u wanna upgrade cause you will only be losing money that way....

thanks for the comments. I figure i can go about a year on some shitty to decent TT's and just get the basics down. By then i should have enough cash to upgrade.

again with another recommendation thread

don't bother with the low end decks and upgrading later
just go right for the tech 12s

i did the "buy something to spin on for now" route
within 6 months i was kicking myself

tech 12s and a decent mixer (this is where you actually have to do some research)
figure out what you're going to need and find a mixer that offers you what you need

then you start eating kraft dinner for a few months and save your money

and you do realize that learning to dj doesn't happen in 2 weeks, it takes YEARS of practice and sacrifice

i've been djing for almost 2 years now and i still learn new shit every single time i mix
