If the producer of a track wants to, they send out special DAT recordings of the original mixes. Remixers then work from these. The chances of you getting hold of these is (unless you are currently one of the most in demand remixers in the world) about ..well unfortunately a big fat 0.

The producers usually send tracks to the remixers they want. The remixer doesn't get to ask who he likes. It has been known for the popular remixers to be sent 100+ tracks a week by producers to remix.

The only other way I can think of if you are a amateur remixer, is to listen to a track and then attempt to transcribe it yourself.

I.E Listen to it slowed down and work out the notes yourself.

Yeah, remixing involves getting ahold of the individual tracks of a song....not an easy thing to come by.
What you can do, though, is an edit of a song. That would be taking a song, then doing things like looping certain parts or taking out certain parts....extending the song by inserting certain parts in various places, etc. If you get real good at doing that, you can try and send an edit to the producers of that song...and if it's a real good edit...they might take notice to you. Just remember that they probably get...lord knows...how many edits of songs every day.Every once in a while, though, if it's a really good edit and they're really impressed, they might give you the tracks for a remix. that doesn't happen very often, though...unless you're a name that they have heard of and heard good things about.
