Thumbs down Gabriel & Dresden @ Glow Review

Just got back home from this one. To anyone who couldn't make it, you didn't miss much. These two are definitely great producers, but when it comes to mixing, not so much so. I was very disappointed. Still, I enjoyed my night out there anyway, I always do. Left early; about 3:30. Just wasn't feeling their set. The songs they were playing were good, not great, but hearing how off the mixes were definitely brought the set down several noches. Didn't recognize many of the tracks, except for some weird ass remix of beautiful things that I wasn't too crazy about. Later they played the unplugged version, which was definitely a crowd pleaser. I think I saw everyone singing along to that one! And I was able to get a good listen to "deep breathe love". Sounded good in the club. It's no "As the Rush Comes", but still a good tune. Not sure how'll it'll sound on mp3 @ home, but I enjoyed it none the less. Alrighty, time for bed cuz I am beat!

I enjoyed their set! The mixing may not have been the greatest, but I wasn't expecting them to emulate Sasha either. I believe that their talents lay heavily on their production skills, which are amazing!

OMG. I had fun

I just got back home a few minutes ago, since I stayed at hotel in DC. But holy shit...G&D rocked the house! Some of the tracks I remember them playing were:

Dave Gahan - I Need You
Markus Schulz presents Elevation - Clear Blue
Duncan Shiek - I'm on a high
All four remixes of Andain - Beautiful Things
Two remixes of Motorcycle - As the rush comes
Motorcycle - Deep Breathe Love
Attention Deficit - What?

Deep Breathe love was -ok-. It didn't have much energy as As The Rush Comes in my opinion. Although, I'm sure it will grow on me once I hear it a lot more. It was good though!!!

Dan Simpson owned too! Just like Busy Child said, "He dropped PQM - Sleeping", omg...I died when I heard that. I didn't think he would drop that track. I'm glad he did! I saw a few people taking video and pictures...who was that and will it be posted? I want to check them out! I know both Josh & Dave were holding the video camera. It was great meeting a lot of the TA's from the board! Hope to meet again!

I think that Deep Breathe Love sounds like a subdued ATRC counterpart. It's damn good in my opinion, just a bit mellower and maybe a little vague in some ways. I'm sure that someone's already working on a higher BPM remix.

Who was that guy that was filming with a digital video camera from the booth, on either side, etc.? He got some serious footage!
