Well, you should check out my mix also then in this topic I think because comments are positive so far.

Would be nice to make a comparison, but only if Mmats also want this of course.

glad u like it montie, u introduced me to neutrix As for comparison to another mix, I dont see the point in that. How bout we just focus on the mixes themselves.

That's what I mean; not to compare 'who's the best' but just how we both approched the mix and tracklisting and so on.

Anyway, your mix is going with me on holiday so I will respond when I'm back in about a week and a half.

nah, i'm not gonna compare it. that'd be silly. just like to check out the other mix, altho its always a pain actually getting the time to write out a full review.

yeah neutrix is such an awsome song. medway is one of my favorite producers. and team him up (Jesse Skeens) with Sean Cusick and you have one hell of a team. You should check out the fiscal EP which was released about a year ago by them. Has two awsome songs on it, Graffiti, which is a really grooving progresive song with an awsome bassline, and columns of clouds which is a really nice chilled out breaky ambient song.

anyway onto the mix.
i really liked the first two songs on there. homegrown was a really cool song to start out with. was a pretty mellow and very interesting to listen to. your mix from homegrown to the "unknown" song was pretty much seamless. it was really hard for me to tell when the mix started and finished the first time through (infact all the mixing throughout was very solid). the second song definatly continued the vibe well. it kept things interesting while being chill. you had another seamless mix into music n control, which i think started to picking things up abit, or bring up the energy level.
i really liked the mix into neutrix. the only minor thing is that the synths kicked in a little early. i think it would have been better if you could have started neutrix a little later or if you were mixing on CD you could cue and loop it to give yourself more space. regardless, the mix sounded very nice. and started to change things up a bit, got things a little techier and funkier which was nice, definatly kept things interesting.
the mix out of neutrix was also well done, altho i wasn't as fond of it as some of the earlier mixs. just didn't sound as elegant to me. "can't get it" caried things on well, and worked well into "into your mind." things continued to be dark and grooven.
i like how you started to lighten things up slowly at the end. sorta bring the listener slowly out of the darkness into the light. the mix into innerspace sounded a bit rushed. you brought up the levels on innerspace pretty sharply around 40:25 and into your mind droped out pretty sharply. innerspace started to slowly lighten things up and was very nicely placed. you continued things well with "a forest" altho the begining of this mix sounded a bit rushed also. once the mix got going tho, it sounded very nice. these songs work very well together, and "a forest" definatly continued to lighten things up working toward the end. "last flight" was a very nice song to end off the set. during the mix tho, the beats were slightly off and "last flight" came on a little to heavy at first.

over all a very nice mix. mixing was for the most part very solid. the first time i listened to the mix (altho i was kinda drunk at the time) i could hardly tell when the mixs started and ended. even listening to it now and moving back and forth its hard.
the tracklist is very nice. each song works very well with its previous, and keeps things interesting. it would have been nice to hear a little more breaks tho toward the end

great job dude

hey, awesome review man. I see what you mean about the mix into neutrix, i rushed it because i felt like i had to make up for letting the first 3 songs play so long.

I was skeptical about mixing into Vek - Cant get it, but i couldnt really find anything that would fit. Some of the tunes i picked because i didnt want the most popular stuff. I think I was gona put Infusion - Legacy in Veks place but i didnt for the above reason. Vek gave me the most trouble.

I definitely see what you mean about the mix into innerspace. I kinda limited myself because i really wanted some of these songs in there because i just got em =). Anyways you made some good points and thanks for the review. Your most recent mix still gets alot of play time by me.

edit: just wanted to add that im thinkin about a possible revamp to this mix starting after neutrix, but that wont be for awhile.

cool i'm working on a new one. this one should be atleast 60 min. but i wont be able to record it soon cuz i just shiped out all my tables and such to my apartment at school today.

id definatly like to hear a revamping of this mix. i think you should keep the last three songs. i really liked those. the mixing could have just been improved on.

maybe throw in some breaks and some weird techier stuff after neutrix. something to keep things interesting. neutrix has a weird feel to while it keeps the prog. house/trancy vibe so its a good transition track into some stranger stuff.
