I was wondering that is DJ:ing hard ? I'd like to try making mixes, but need some good programs and i don't think fruityloops alone will do =)

Here's a typical cliche:

If it was easy, everyone would be doing it!

peace.

Pick up "How to DJ Right". Sit down and read it multiple times. Memorize it for it is a holy book in the world of the DJ. Learning to DJ is hard... Lots of beatmatching plus getting used to seperating beats... It's crazy! lol

Fruity Loops has nothing to do with DJing, it has to do with producing. producing is MAKING music. DJing is PLAYING music. There is more to DJing that just playing music obviously, but essentially that's all it is.

Djing is EASY. producing is hard.

however, DJing is expensive, you will need about $2000 CAD to get started with two decks and a mixer, headphones, slipmats, and a decent amount of vinyl to start with.
you could go the CD route too, it's just as expensive.

Then again, proper monitors, an amp to drive them, and a basic midi synth will cost you about the same at least.

Or, you can go the "free" route to get started, using only software and mp3s. Try them both out, and see what you like, then buy some real machines.

True, but hey djing is easy to good djs and very difficult to crap djs and producing is hard like 99% of the time but in that 1% it's very easy

Well put

Being a good DJ doesn't mean you can just beatmatch. It's about knowing what to play at the right time to get the crowd pumped. Also staying true to your style...
