I disagree. As mark latham said she has been campaigning for tougher penalties and thats what shes got. The thing is her "party" fraudulently obtained positions in the government. The way the party was set up was her, ethridge, and 1 other guy (cant remember his name) dictating party policy with however many other members it claimed to have "supporting" said policy. Unfortunately it doesnt work like that in Australia. Also the party held the balance of power in queensland for a while making it a pretty important political player.
Do i think paulines sentence was fair? yes, Do i think any other politician would got that sentence? probably not, But i dont think any other politician getting a ligther sentence is fair. Hopefully this will send the message to people if you mess with political process then you get screwed as it relatively important to the running of our country.
I also think david ethridge should have got a similar sentence to pauline, being that he was more of a puppetmaster and pauline the very vocal puppet. I wouldnt be suprised if we see him popping up behind a few more vocal political upstarts soon.

I think from a political stand point she destroyed her self.
