Ich glaub Lunchy findet es net so doll, wenn hier cues von bereits veröffentlichten CD´s gepostet werden.

Short reply:

Cue sheets split big mp3's in to tracks as you burn it to a audio CD.

Longer reply:

A "cue sheet" is generally a text file (which accompanies a binary "image" of the CD) describing the track structure on the disc. Using CDRWIN's cue sheet as an example:

Each "INDEX" line describes the index number (generally 1) and the absolute time offset with respect to the beginning of the disc. You can create one by hand (a bit tedious) or use external software tools to aid in the process.

New programs also recognize different IMAGE formats that accompany the file (WAV or MP3, etc)

TITLE "album name"
FILE "album name.mp3" MP3
TRACK 01 AUDIO
TITLE "track1"
PERFORMER "artist name"

NAMING CONVENTION

The above file would be called:
album name.cue

and the file that would accompany it would be
album name.mp3

It is important that the names of these files match for certain programs. Also, the file extensions should match accordingly, along with the files they match.

How to burn a cd with cue sheet?

Using Nero:

1. Start Nero
2. Create a new Audio-CD project
3. Go to File> Burn Image
4. In the "File of Type" drop down list, select All Files (*.*)
5. Select the text file that contains the cue file. Click Open.
6. Wait a minute till your PC has prepared the file and the burn interface appears. If you have a continous mixed set watch out to set the mode to "disc at once", otherwise you get some freaky breaks between the tracks.
7. Write CD!

Ensure the cue sheet and mp3 are in the same directory.


Using CDRWIN:

You can make cues pretty simple with EAC - just press the button and it's done. But burning is best done with CDRWIN:

Are you having problems burning cues?

It's always a good idea to strip a cue sheet to their barest if problems occur.

The simple format would be:

FILE "filename.mp3" MP3 (<- both filename & type match your files)
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 01 06:13:17
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 01 10:36:04
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 01 17:02:68
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 01 21:44:73
etc..

Double check it!

It may give an error on different line if the type is wrong so check it first. Possible problems could occur if the hundreds of seconds are more than 75 as CDRWIN uses them as frames - they are not really hundreds. So make them below 75, too. All TITLE and PERFORMER info can be deleted as well as INDEX 00 stuff.

A thing to consider would be burning them from *.wav too. The start would look like:

FILE "filename.wav" WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 01 06:13:17
etc..

Available types are WAVE, MP3, BINARY, MOTOROLA and AIFF.

Your burner records just noise?

It's a known problem that was at least in CDRWin 4.0beta and Fireburner for some recorders. After I installed CDRWin 3.8d I've had no such problems.

ups da hat doch jemand, während ich beim Antworten telefoniert habe zuerst gepostet.

danke danke euch schon mal für diese infos!! hab jetzt schon mal nen plan um was es sich da genau mit den cues handelt!...also soweit ich das richtig verstehe, kann ich die tracks nur dann seperat splitten wenn ich die mp3 brenne!? richtig?
...aber funkt das auch mit WinOnCD!! hab diese brennsoftware schon immer benutzt und nie probleme gehabt..würde das deshalb auch für die cues nutzen wenn möglich!

es gibt auch ein plugin fuer winamp, dass einen einzelnen track via cuesheet inmehrere splittet.

Soweit ich weiss, gehen cues mit Win on CD net, ich hatte Version 5 und da gab es keine Option dafür. Ich weiss nicht, ob es eine neuere Version gibt, die cues brennen kann. Programme wie Nero, Fireburner, Exact Audio copy, Feurio oder CDR-Win unterstützen das Brennen von cues aber. Bei der Auswahl sollte was dabei sein.

Mti Win on CD geht es nicht. Ich empfehle Fireburner für sowas. Da klickst Du nur auf das cue file und das sucht dann automatisch das dazugehörige file und brennt es.

Na dann werd ich mich ma auf die suche nach ner vernünftigen brennersoftware machen!!
Ok jetzt weiss ich schon mal wie und womit ich meine tracks mittels cue brennen kann und wie ich sie seperat auf winamp hören kann!....fehlt nur noch wie ich die tracks mittels der cue direkt am rechner in einzelne track-dateien splitten kann, also ohne die dabei zu brennen!?!?!..gibts da ne möglichkeit!?...ich hoffe ich nerve nich mit meinen fragen!!!

Probier doch mal das, was Hollow geschrieben hat. Ich hab´s noch nie getestet, aber es hört sich so an, als macht das Programm das, was Du benötigst. Jetzt wird´s aber mal Zeit für ne Frage an Dich.

Warum willst Du tracks einzeln haben?

jup! hab den vorschlag von hollow auch gerade gelesen! wer ich wohl ausprobieren! scheint das richtige zu sein! dank dir hollow!

Nun...ich hab wie gesagt vor einiger zeit noch nie was von diesen cues gehört, anscheinend bin ich da in der hinsicht schlecht informiert ... auf jedem fall hab ich es mit freude aufgenommen, als ich von diesen cues erfahren hab, da ich zuhause ne menge an live sets/albem/sampler hab und es nach ner zeit nervt die richtige stelle eines live sets z.B zu suchen um sich dann nen bestimmten track anzuhören. das gleiche gilt fürs brennen...brenn ich mir ein 80 min. langes album auf cd, dauert das ne weile bis ich z.B zu track 9 bei 50 min. vorgespult hab!..ein anderes beispiel wäre, wenn mir nur ein oder zwei bestimmte tracks in nem live set gefallen und ich sie mir brennen möchte..ohne cue müsste ich mir deswegen gleich das ganze set brennen.
Im klartext bedeutet das, das ich die tracks deshalb einzeln haben möchte da es mir nen besseren komfort ermöglicht!
