some will say Rogers is better than Bell , otherwise will say the complete opposite. Customer service with both is shit or non-existent. Some will suggest 3rd party DSL providers and all their perks. In the end it all depends on where you live. Best thing to do is post what part of TO you're connecting in and get feedback from people who live relatively within the same vicinity..

You should get faster dloads with rogers or any cable service..if you are into online gaming (quake, counterstrike) you will find cable better...but otherwise both have perks.

Bell DSL was good until they enforced the bloody charges on bandwidth should you exceed your monthly usages.

Rogers Cable has unlimited bandwidth for users.

Go for T1 or T3 if you are on impatient being...

I've had Rogers for 3 years now, and never had a problem, and I've gotten the speeds/transfer rates I was told I would.

As for customer service, I've occasionally had problems with the comp when reformatting, etc, and their extensive online help FAQ not to mention their call centre, have made a real positive impression on me.

I got CUIC.ca as my providor and have been happy with them for over 1 year now. Not only do i get faster downloads for $5 cheeper than Bell but I can run servers on it legally and NO BANDWIDTH CAPS

Sympatico no longer has bit caps under their premium plan. And Rogers doesn't plan on implementing them anymore either since Bell dropped theirs.

Go with Bell. Seriously.

I used to have Rogers cable for quite a long time... around five years would be my guess. It used to be blazingly fast, but the speed slowly, but surely, deteriorated.

I switched to Bell Ultra. So it gets set up and the speed is much, much faster than my cable. I could go on a web page and not have to wait three and a half years for it to load.

But... and this is quite amusing, at least to me: It turns out that Bell gave my home not Ultra, or regular high speed, but the inexpensive version that's only a bit faster than dial-up.

So anyways, we switch to Ultra (for real this time), and the service would cut out every half an hour or so. Finally we figure out that my house is too far for Ultra... they really should have said this before! But we set up regular high speed and it works very very well; it's miles ahead of Cable.

Some points: Obviously there were some setup hitches with Sympatico, but I won't hold it against them because tech support was GREAT. Hold times were very short and the employees were patient and helpful as we tried to figure out the problems. Rogers/Shaw tech support is non-existant... hold times greater than an hour, and they aren't exactly helpful from my experiences. Also note that cable is not as slow as it was for me in all areas... but it is a possibility, and a risk I would not be willing to take if I were getting a new service.
