nah... i am not going to reregister my car, as i wont really be there that long. plus i have a shitload of points which makes it risky changing insurance. but i was just curious cause jersey has the highest rates in teh country so i just wanted to see how they compare in general out there supposing i moved there more permanently. |
Hmmm, I wonder if you get a California DL, would your record start as new, nothing, zilch, nada, null, clean slate, perfect record or would your points from EastCoast carry over???
Perhaps something for you to look into, also an FYI, if you are in Cali for more than 10business days, by law(vehicle Code) you have to register your vehicle in California.

interesting.... why do they do that? i'll have to look into it. i am sure insurance rates are going to vary depending whether i live in the city or not. i am not even sure if i am bringing my car. if i can get them to lease me a car for 8 months i will do that.

Well if you are moving to San Francisco, you actually won't need the car there, transportation in SF is prolly the best in the country, buses, cable cars, bart system almost to everywhere around town you'd want to get to. And if you think parking is bad in New York/Jersey, start saving money for parking garages or parking tickets which no kidding, in some cituations are cheaper than parking garages,
