Here we go...

Epic (same as uplifting for me) - emotional, large buildups that go into awesome leads (synths). Makes you want to dance around and makes you very happy. My favorite.

Deep (same as progressive for me) - repetitive (but in a good way)...makes you move but not too much. Puts you into a deep trance. I listen a lot harder when listening to progressive.

Hard - trance with techno mixed in. You got the hard beats and energy of techno but you still have the cool, dreamy synths of trance music. Good to dance to.

Psy (I also call this goa) - trippy...very fun to listen to. You have a repetitive bassline with awesome, trippy synths layered over them. Really gets you moving and your head buzzing.

It's interesting to note that we call "trance" here on this site, the whole world calls "techno."

god i hate it when ppl call it "techno". it makes me want to punch them in the face. when i tell them its "trance" they dont know what the fuck im talking about. even this kid who is a web designer has a article on his site about "techno" and then lists his 5 favorite djs which are 1)pvd 2)bt 3)paul oakenfold 4)sasha and 5(blank and jones. FAR FROM TECHNO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same here! You have to tell people you listen to 'techno' cuz they don't know wtf trance is! Techno is far from trance and people should know the damn difference!!

Well, while listening to my trance at the beach, this kid comes up to me and askes me what do I call this music.. I said trance..
then he named and said.. do you know this tunes ?!?

And he said.. you call that trance ?!?! I said, Castles in the sky is more of the trance example, the rest is sh*t ! not even close to trance..
And he then says, I thought this is TECHNO ! they all sound the same , to me is all techno...
I froze for 5 secs, thinking If I should punch him or not, but no, I just got up, took my radio, and walked away..
Damm that got me mad.
