When and How did you get into Trance??

For me i got into the whole electronica genre last year for my 17th birthday i got the CD Peaktime - Mixed by Mark Dynamix..and i absolutely fell in love with it, i was listening to it literally everywhere possible. Even though from then i started listening to Nick Skitz crap and i thought that was trance too but then soon realized the truth *shivers. I listened to rock music before it so i never believed in electronica really.

What about you, just wondering

Rob Energy first found his way to the world of electronica in 1995. Started off with happyhardcore in 1995 the year of hardcore fever, on the way he got himself into dance & techno. In 1998, trance and than came hard-trance (His favorite style). Time has past & over time, there he started to develop his own unique style and mixing out on a live mix session on Danceunited Radio in 2000. During that time he meet Dj Jordan a talented DJ, who spun with him on many occasion on DU radio. Obsessively he found little time for anything else in his life but the music he loved: Progressive medolic trance/hardtrance. He loved it so much, it created his dj motto "Music Is Life"!

a snip snip off the first paragraph from my bio in early 2002.

binary 1998
thats what did it..

and fav set
ferry corsten live @ intercity 2000

also really like Tunnel Trance Force from 5 to 12 or so
then started to drift away from it.
vol 1 to 4 never heard of them.

2 tracks back in the "good ol days" got me into trance...

Brainbug - Nightmare & Robert Miles - Children

Went to my first big day out in 99 at age 15 spent most of my time in the boiler room and fell in love with all things electronic...

From there visited the more electronica type sounds (sonic animation, endorphin), before discovering Tiesto at the beginning of 2k1 and since then havent looked back!!!

Thats my lil story!!

i heard some cheesy tune on the radio one day, then went to download it from napster, and found tranceaddict.com added to the end of its filename. My whole world changed from that day onward.

Was probably around late 99, my dad was/still is into house music and anyway he use to always listen to that and kiss 90 and i always use to hate it and tell him to get this shi*e off etc.
Anyway after constantly listening to housey stuff i kind of got into that, but then he bought me a trance cd(can't member name but had like out of the blue, expander etc).
So yeah thanks to my dad im into and love my trance!.

Then when i was in the UK in 2000 i bought my first set of decks etc and the rest is history

bit of a late bloomer. first exposure to non-commercial trance was thru oakie's 99? lotherton hall set, which i heard somewhere in 2001. that time, also heard tiesto's in my memory. loved the music, but never bothered to get get into it until 2002 two tribes, when i heard it all live. found tranceaddict, lurked for a while. audiogalaxy closed down, joined for da good ol hub. havnt listened to much trance in the last few months tho. more to prog, proggy breaks, techy house, techy trance, nu skool breaks. i like things with a heavier bass line, and a subtler melody.

since a young age always enjoyed a nice constant trancey bassline, even if it were to be cheesy dance music or commercial crap like wild or dj sash haha. But the real trance for me came through Oakenfolds "Tranceport" which I thrashed to pieces (had it on tape) and on repeat for a month straight analysing each sound of it. Shorlty thereafter I discovered Tiesto's 99 set @ innercity amsterdam, and there was no looking back. Has and always will be my favourite trance set with nothing in my opinion that compares...

*the techno kid speaks!*

Hehe, although im a techno freak, my roots actually lay in trance...back in the days of Jam El Mar and Man with No Name *who now produce quite varying sounds*...Time wise id say 93-94? Wasnt like today's ephoric trance, it was a little harder egded yet still journey like...Best track to describe it would have to be Aurora Borealis - The Milky Way I guess in times, sounds change but the "body" or main element of the sound follows on...

So yes, Trance is love
