Question A-sides and B-sides?

What does it mean when a track is A-side or B-Side?

maybe im wrong ... but i though a vinyl had two sides ... and the track "a-side" just means that it is recorded on the "a-side"

i think your right bu to add to it, sometimes they put remixes on the other side. sometime you will see "blah blah (a1)" and then sometimes you will see "blah blah (b2remix).

LOL yes u are half right Mekon
vinyls are 2 sided having an "A" side which is usually the main Mix and the "B" side containing other mixes or a entirely different track.

However there are DOUBLE A side Vinyls lol
and a Dble A side is where the tracks on both sides are both being released at the same time

Ok soooo...... So one side is always (a-side) and if i flip the vinyl around it can either be (b-side) or (a-side) depending on realese date or mixing?

Basicly Yes

and u know when u see Vinyl rips available for download and in the title it says A1 or B1 mix
well
A1 = 1st track on side A
B1 = 1st track on side B
A2 = 2nd track on side A or 1st track on the other side if it's a double A side vinyl
B2 = 2nd track on side B

Peace

Usually when u see a track eg

Belfast Child - White label Promo A1 mix

its cos the ripper has ripped the track from a white label vinyl
and on the label of the vinyl usually Nothing is written
cept maybe a possible release title for the track

the same example

Red and I got this track on white label promo

Belfast Child - Promo

thats all it said on the label lol but have since found out its
Mezziah - Innocent as a new Born Child

so that is why u often see a mix called A1 or B1 mix cos the ripper had no clue as to the mix title either

I love white labels... There is something about a single sided white label that just turns me on.

ok, maybe not turn me on..but its exciting in my mind. I only have 1 white label on vinyl, its Al Janaero-Energize. I dont know anything about the track, but its crazy nu-nrg type music...I love it. =)
