I know theres already been a thread like this....but damn it...i gotta rant. I've been awake for 27 hours...Its 1130 here...and its the first time i've been dry since 1030 last night. I am stuck at my aunts house (which is also where i work) Our marina is flooded. The chesapeake bay is torn to shit. Our tides are about 14 feet above normal...so half the houses on the water are flooded...you cannot see any peirs...you can only see parts of pilings. We run a towing business too...water towing...and almost every boat out there is submerged either totally or partially. There are whole peirs floating out in the bay.....It was so rough out there when we went out at 830...our tow boat was getting the shit kicked out of it. I mean whole sea walls are tottaly gone. My house is surrounded by 5 feet of water. My parents and my little brother are stuck there....there is a manditory evacuation of my area...but youtell me how you drive through 5 feet of water!! Plus if they leave our house could fall apart...they gotta stay to keep pumping water out. My 1972 Volkswagon Beetle...my baby....is partially floating. I'm just so tired and worried...yet there is nothing i can do...I have to keep working for the safety of others....and just pray (and im not a religous person) that my parents, brothers, and house will be okay!

Sorry that I cannot relate, but you should feel lucky it was such a small hurricane compared to how it was earlier.

that sucks

it's just hit us now (toronto) but its not a hurricane anymore just a mild tropical storm i believe is what they are calling it... Hope everything turns out okay for you though, good luck!

Hope everything works out. I get shit scared when we get autumn storms in the UK...can't imagine what it would be like in a hurricane though.
