Is it all over if you love the Epic stuff?

I'm well aware that things have to progress and change, and trance is obviously no different..While i absolutley adore tune's like ATRC, Traffic, 3rd earth etc i still cant help but be completely overwhelmed by a huge euphoric, epic break..Carte Blanche, Ayla, Gamemaster,Exhale etc still gimme goose bumps and still go mental on the dancefloor when they played on the odd occassion..Nowadays tho to find an epic tune it's either a 2003 remix (Carte Blanche etc) or cheese..I'm not a fan of all these re-makes- it's as if people are using classics as an excuse to make this particular type of trance again..why not new original "epic" productions (you cant tell me they've exhausted every melody especially with advances in production technology occuring all the time).I'm not suggesting we go backwards and forget the positive changes that have taken place within the genre either,it would just be nice (IMHO) to have these world-class producers, produce an odd track along the line that made them famous every so often..Obviously it's a sound that still works otherwise they wouldnt be doing all these 2003 "updates"..Thoughts (feel free to suggest an original newish epic trancer i may have missed )

There are plenty out there, maybe you should be looking harder.

A recent example, um... how about Morpheus - Magnetica?

GTR - Mistral.

This tune convinced me that huge epic trance still has a future.

Epic and Uplifting are more or less dead at the moment, in my opinion. Every so often you'll get a good track come through like Symbols, but the overwhelming majority is boring, overused crap. Trying to ride the coattails of '99 no longer cuts it.

That's not to say that uplifting has no future. It might come back some time down the road, but not in the short-term. At minimum, the next year of trance isn't and shouldn't try for the euphoric sound that brought trance to the top.

Try listening to Mirco de Govia's stuff...Voller Sterne and Final Emotion are his newest "epic" stuff.
