Confused Does anyone like Dave Seaman?

I happened to listen to some of his mixes and enjoyed them. Dont think its considered trance though...progressive trance maybe? Dont see his name mentioned a lot any other fans of his out there?

Dave Seaman is awesome. His Global Undergrounds and the two albums he did for the Renaissance series are classics. He mixes progressive trance and progressive house I would say. His mixing skills are awesome too. Never seen him live but if he's anything like the cds he's done he must be good.

"Artist:
b. 29 April 1968, Wakefield, Yorkshire, England. Seaman is one half of the respected remixing and production team, Brothers In Rhythm, but has established his own credentials as a sought-after house DJ and producer. He has been involved with the famous UK club Renaissance since its earliest days and has DJed at most of the major clubs in the world. Seaman's DJing style and his work with Brothers In Rhythm became linked with what the music press labelled epic house, with DJs such as Sasha and John Digweed at the forefront of the style. Seaman grew up listening to his parents' Carpenters and Barry White records but became interested in electro, New Order and dance music in his teens. After appearing in the DMC mixing championships in the late 80s, he was asked to appear at the New Music Seminar in New York and was eventually offered a job at DMC. As Brothers In Rhythm with Steve Anderson, Seaman has produced artists such as Kylie Minogue, Take That and Pet Shop Boys. The team have also remixed tracks by some of the most high-profile artists of recent years such as M People, Sasha, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Seal, Sting, Placebo, Garbage, Bruce Hornsby, Eurythmics, New Order, Blur and Pulp. Seaman was for a time, a key figure behind the DMC/Stress Records organisation, making all the major A&R decisions. He also turned DMC's paper newsletter into the "bible" of clubland, Mixmag. Known for his obsessive interest in sports shoes and his love of travel, Seaman now has his own management company, Therapy, and continues to DJ all over the world. He spent much of 1999 in the USA, DJing at clubs as part of a Renaissance US tour. He also recorded a mix compilation for the Boxed label, reflecting his DJ sets in Argentina - Global Underground 12: Buenos Aries.

Compilations:
DJ Culture Volume 2: Stress Records (Moonshine Music 1994)***, Mixmag Live Volume 1 (Mixmag Live 1996)***, Mixmag Live Volume 10 (Mixmag Live)***, DJ Culture (Stress 1996)***, Renaissance 4 ' Mixed By Dave Seaman & Ian Ossia (Avex 1996)***, Renaissance Worldwide ' Singapore ' Mixed By David Morales, Dave Seaman, BT (Passion 1998)***, Back To Mine (DMC 1999)****, Global Underground 012 - Buenos Aires (Boxed 1999)****, Renaissance Awakening (Renaissance 2000)***, Global Underground 016 - Cape Town (Boxed 2000)****, Renaissance Desire (Renaissance 2001)****."

Dave Seaman is da man..i own all three GU's, with Beunos Aires being my favourite (and the most trancey :cool Plus his Renaissance Desire CD - so much class in the first disc. Plus his Back To Mine which is awesome for Lamb - Gorecki alone.

He used to play alotta prog. trance, but over time he has moved more housey. I like the old Dave Seaman better, but what he is playing now is still quality

His GU from Buenos Aires is so damn beautiful, especially cd2.So many well produced, dark tunes...I love!!!Too bad he doesn't play like that anymore...but then again, that's the way the genre went.I still think he plays good music, tho.
