The logitech Z-680 are the original. The Alesis are exactly the same, but with their brand on it and another color (and if I remember well, Alesis gave different cables too). So sound is the same.
Keep in mind they are designed for multimedia. They are easily one the best sounding multimedia speakersets around now, but I wouldn't recommend them really for producing (even with the sub turned down almost completely, the lo freqs are still overpowering). Good sounding, but not linear at all. Same goes for the Klipsch. They sound good, I would even say too good. They embellish your sound, which isn't recommended for producing. And for dj'ing? Little bit overkill to take a 5.1 system no?
I would only recommend them as computer speakers, and maybe for home cinema (where you'd still be better off getting dedicated hifi surround systems).
PS : we're talking about speakers here, sound quality is of importance, not looks.

If gaming is all you're gonna do, than stick with the Audigy 2. If anything else comes before gaming, get the Revolution. If you want speakers for JUST the computer, get something without a dolby digital decoder -- you'd be better put to not pay for (or have) digital features you don't need.

You *do* plan to hook them up to your computer, xbox, dvd player, etc... use them to hook them to everything, right? And you don't care if a system isn't very accurate?
If you answered yes to both, its a good buy.

As long as you are using the Dolby Digital 5.1 feature (ie, with a stand alone dvd player, an xbox, or a ps2), and maybe Pro Logic II for stereo sources, you should be alright.

i think im gunna do analog 5.1 out from my comp (i dont have an optical out) then do an optical from my ps2 to the reciever and do a stereo jack from the TTs...only thing is that my TV and monitor are like 3 feet apart and i watch movies on both so i need to figure out where to put the front speakers...
