i just bought stanton 500AL IIs, and am quite happy with them. although they were a pain to put on, and the sound output is quite low, they sound good, and were cheap ($80 CAD for two)

i once had a pair of stanton 500AL's

definatly a good deal.

not the best of carts. but they got the job done well for their price.

if i were you tho, i'd put up the extra money to get some
shure m-44Gs (or m44-7s)

they have alot better quality than the stantons (altho they are no ortofons) and cost a bit more. hold grooves very well.

I have some 500AL at the moment, they ain't to bad, I got them for like 65 bux canadian.
But my friend has some Shure SC35Cs, I think he paid like 85 bux for them, and I'd have to say that the shures are better and really worth the extra bit of money, but if you want cheaper, the Stantons will do just fine.
