Question Best BT's Album

This thread is not exactly for discussion. I'm going to buy a BT album and I want to read opinions from people who have more than three albums and can recommend me the best of them. I've listened to these songs:

Dreaming - My favorite
Shame
Mercury and Solace (Marc Shimmon Remix)

I'm looking to some kind of 'trance' style.

ALBUMS:

Emotional Technology (2003)
R&R (Rare & Remixed) (2001)
Movement in Still Life (2000)
ESCM (1997)
IMA (1996)

When I bought Sarah McLachlan's Surfacing I went crazy about this production, so I decided to buy the first Sarah's album: Touch. I was dissapointed for that album -very different style. I don't want to do the same with BT

Thanks.

Ima and ESCM are BT's best albums by far.

None of the BT albums is full of trancers, they all have different styles of tracks and overall each have their own style.

Ima
- Vocal house, old(er) skool trancey style with lots of 303s used here and there
- UK Edition 1xCD, US Edition 2xCD
E.S.C.M.
- Chilled breakz, trance and other alternatives
- UK Edition has track 4. The Road To Lostwithiel (8:35) while US Edition has track 4. Lullaby For Gaia (5:26) instead
Movement In Still Life
- Hiphop oriented breakz, breakz, trance, chilled stuff
- Along with the original 1xCD at least 3 different versions of 2xCDs exist (Hong Kong, Japan, US) of which Hong Kong Edition has most tracks of CD1 in their full glory and unmixed or selected remixes of some tracks.
Emotional Technology
- Pop & rock oriented breakz and some vocal trancy/housey stuff

Rare & Remixed and 10 Years In The Life are both compilations of some carefully selected BT works, collaborations and remixes, varying alot in style over the years. Vocal house, trance, vocal trance, more proggy stuff, breakz etc. etc.

But anyways, i agree with Cyberwoo here, Ima and E.S.C.M. are my favs too!

You're gonna have a hard time with any BT album if you're looking for a "trancey" style, and most likely, like you said will be disappointed. His music is varied between breakbeat, hip-hop influenced tracks, house, and progressive. If you want a good trancey album you are better off buying a CD from another artist, there are tons of classics out there.

But if you want to open your mind a little and still try a BT album out I'd say go for either ESCM or Movement in Still Life.

ESCM is not only BT's best album, but it's also one of the best Electronic albums ever, fullstop.

It's like this for me, Grace, "It's not over yet" was off of IMA so there for IMA is the best.

Talking Thanks

OK So, the winner is... ESCM !!! I know BT are not in to a specific style, he's very 'multifacetic'. I'll buy ESCM album and maybe IMA. R&R Sounds good too. Thanks for the opinions I feel more decided

with the tracks you listed, i dont think you would be disappointed with MISL the Japanese edition...its a bit pricey, but well worth it if you want a mixed cd and full length tracks

"Not Over Yet" isn't on IMA although BT's remix of it is similar sounding to his Ima stuff, maybe thats what u mean.

Wink Easy Choice ....

BT - E.S.C.M. I own it myself.
Just look at the track listing, and that all that's all that you need to know. Every one of those 10 tracks was big in some way, and I recall dozens and dozens remixes and remakes of those tracks ....
