Is it me or do the vast majority of mainstream DJ's all play the same set? or all share about ten tunes they all play ... its boring as, and theres no wonder uneducated idiots brandish Trance as been dead, if all they hear off every other DJ is the same old same old.
Many of the new Dj's coming through the ranks ALSO fall victim to this epedemic ... what is is resultant of? ...
is it that individuals have turned into sheep?

is it because, perish the thought, trance these days IS that unimaginiative that there are a limited number of quality releases? (every man and his dog rinses Motorcycle, i cant see the fascination)

Or is it because of a distinct lack of creativity and 'the i can't be bothered' ethos?

gone were the days every different DJ meant a completely different set, now its gone limp and we need the influx of some very individual talent like Marcus Shultz and Mr Sam, my mate Adam Sheridan! just to name a few, to grab trance by its neck, give it a good kickin, and give us the enjoyment we used to have. As opposed to every PVD, Armin blah blah blah ... tracklist being vertually identical every single week....

well i guess the producers aim at these guys to play the cream of the crop trance, all djs are striving to get the cutting edge tunes, admitly they do over play tracks like motor cycle... me personally have never played it, a good track yes but it carries the commercial stamp all over it...

... unbelievable!!! ... i completely agree with you too. Its what i think, DJ's should play a mix of old and new ... afterall i think all good music is timeless so irrespective of wether its old or new ... if its good, then play it!!

i always play a wide range of stuff, mioxing tracks like Arcane - Somewhere ... alongside current stuff like Sonorous - Second Sun (leama and moor mix) ... it all blends together really well, and theres much more scope for completely different sets than the 'usual suspect tunes' that everyone hammers every week!!!

I agree to an extent.

The #1 thing I have ALWAYS looked for when posting livesets up on the site was that it had an ORIGINAL tracklist and wasn't full of fluff and had some decent programming to it - even if (at times) some of the transitions where rougher than I'd like.

There are tons of tracks out there that get no airtime because they have no distribution... sad, but true.

yeah i agree ... but in a way there's a balance of both worlds here. Like when therer's a tune out you really love ... sometimes when dj's play them all the time you lose that great feeling you get when listening to it and lose interest... BUT ... if this track hardly gets played due to reasons you explained, the good thing you can take from it is that you'll most probably always love it

but its extremely sad when some tunes get no recognition whatsoever

honestly i believe are there are only a handful of premiere dj's..and ill explain why.

Their mixing techniques are great and they usually slam alot of unique accappellas and edit some of the tunes(crisper remixes)..and mesh it all together and give u a nice fluffy dreamy set u can enjoy. free from cheese and only quality and diversity.

This man will give u top notch tunes everytime regardless of his mixing skills.....NO ONE can match his set tracklists and his secret cd case full of whitelabels and rare tunes..no one can touch
