I'm curious as to your policies with services during the holidays. I went up to a camp over the summer for a week and there were two Israelis from Haifa there. I asked them if during the high holidays they go to services, and they said they don't. Instead, especially for Rosh Hashanah, they celebrate it similarly to how American celebrate the New Year. Can anyone confirm this?

ya, you're pretty much right. it would be pretty shocking to most people how secular the majority of israelis are. i remember the best part about yum kippor (which is supposed to be a somber and self reflecting holiday) is that at midnight all the youth from all of haifa meet up at the town center and just party/chill since there are no cars out on the street. from my group of friends in israel i didnt know any that went to synagouge for services but we all kept the tradition by having big family dinners with lots of food yum.
the advandtage in israel is that the holiday is all around you (TV, newspaper, streets) so all you have to do is live there to feel it. here since jews are a small minority the traditions are kept more strongly so they dont disipate.

well islam seems to be showing people how to blow themselves up for 72 virgins... People should be taught by their sages to live, not to die.
even muslims believe in the original bible that says 'I present LIFE and DEATH, choose life'? Yet the word of G-d seems to be different today... it seems to be "Choose death, because some magical way it will equal life in the end"
yes let me tell you
**i should add that NOT ALL MUSLIMS live by this philosophy. But it is not a little minority one***
