Prog Mix for download

Somewhat experimental, this one turned out very different than what I had originally planned. Right click save as http://www.mixtapehost.com/~mmats/Rhys_Promo_1.1.mp3 Tracklisting:

1. Future Sound Of London - Cascade (Part 5)
2. Yves Deruyter - Feel Free
3. P.I.M.P. - Why?
4. Blackwatch - Skin Deep
5. Main Element - Take Me Down (Lemon 8 Mix)
6. Depeche Mode - Only When I Loose Myself (Lexicon Avenue Mix)
7. Infusion - Legacy (Synesthesia Mix)
8. Bedrock - Beautiful Strange
9. Space Manoeuvres - Stage One (Total Separation Mix)

Please leave ANY comments.

I only gave it a really quick listen but what I heard was really dope, tight mixing, awsome track selection, really goes well.

burning this one for tomorrow's bus ride to uni

Hey,
The technical mixing was pretty smooth, but I have to disagree with your track selection. I just think Infusion - Legacy (Synesthesia Mix) is a bad tune. Good choice to end with Stage One though...

Yea i think its equally as good as the junkie XL mix. i used it because its the lesser played mix of the two and its fits nicely.

heh yea FSOL is awesome. hmm if there was one thing i would change about this mix, i would put something else in place of 'Feel Free'.

hey sorry its been awhile since i responded. i've been busy and haven't had the chance to give this all a good listen for a cohesive review.

i was thnking the same hting about "feel free" the first time i heard it pop in there it took me by surprise. dont know if i like that transition. it was out of the blue didn't seem like it flowed to well.
but yet that shocking aspect could be really cool. like in a club envirnment. not realy on a promo mix tho. i don't like the robot vocals in that track either. but i do like the synths alot.

i really liked the mix into "why?" that mix and track really started to pick things up and gets me more interested in the mix and feeling more in the dancy mood. very cool track. (*edit around 17 min i started to get confused. i'm pretty sure you were mixing into skin deep from "why?" but i heard the "whyyyyyy vocals". but i dunno, i'm gonna guess this is how the mix goes makes sense. regardless awsome job.)
anyway with "skin deep" and into "take me down" i lost interest a lil bit. they sounded good in there, and the mixing all the way thru was very good but i just wasn't too fond of the tracks.
but the mix started to pick up again big time when you mixed into "only when i lose myself" i love this song. fucking great.
the mix into legacy was also very good. made things a little trancier, deeper, elroyer, harder and darker. i liked.
legacy worked well before beautiful strange, which always makes me think of a dark urban jungle.
beautiful strange also set the stage well for stage 1. stage 1 sorta brings you out of the darkness into some mystifying beauty. (stage 1 is such a great song).

very good mix over all. i liked it alot. mixing was solid through out. i dunno if i like this more than your first mix. they are both very different. this one is def. more eclectic which i like alot. i lose interest in hte middle songs, and am pretty iffy on the mix into feel free. but there are some awsome tracks on this. very good job. i'll be listening to this for ahwile. you should be proud of this mix.

thanks for the review m8. IMO the mix was ok. Looking back on it, i feel like i went to too many different places with the songs. The emotions dont flow quite right. I wasnt going to even put this up for download, but i thought why not, maybe i introduced some new songs to people.

the thing you mentioned about the mix into 'skin deep', was intended. My mix im working on now is gona be my best yet and is more my style, dark progressive breaks all the way through. Still waiting on your next mix too. Great review as always.
