> updating m-audio delta drivers

hello everyone.

I havn't updated my Delta 44 drivers since I purchased it at least a year ago. I currently have a few small problems, including audio artifacts when using ASIO, but only when I access menus. I would really like to sort these problems out.

I downloaded the new drivers, now the question is what is the best way for installing them?

(using xp, with older drivers already installed)

Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers -> M-Audio Delta -> Properties -> Driver -> Update Driver -> follow the wizard.

Sounds much more complicated than it is.

Incidentally, do you have the menu effects on (shadow, fade-in etc...)? Because that can cause audio glitches when accessing menus. Turn them off if they're on.

Check the driver package, there should be a README file or a "how to" file describing the driver upgrade. Otherwise, check the "how to" section of the M-Audio website

I've upgraded my drivers a couple of times under both Win2k and WinXP, and it's pretty easy to do.

TranceInMySoul, the driver package does not contain any readme or other text document regarding the installation. The m-audio website does have a page on installing the delta, but doesnt describe how to update drivers if it's already installed.

xls, I do have the menu effects on. Thanks for the advice, I'll turn them off immediately to see if that makes a difference.

There seems like a few different ways to update the drivers. I read one article from someone who advised completely removing the drivers, and manually deleting different registry threads before updating (but the article was based on win 2k). There is also an uninstaller that comes with the delta driver package, and there is the uninstal and upgrade features within the windows driver menus.

Anyways, I'll try the update wizard and see what happens.

The new drivers fixed the ASIO problems I had been having. Everything works smoothly now, thanks for the help.
