You should be able to just change the file extension. If you have Windows and the extensions are hidden, open up Windows Explorer, click on Tools --> Folder Options --> View, and uncheck "Hide Extensions for Known File Types"

If for some reason that doesn't work.

Stick the file in the c drive...much easier (assuming c is your main drive)

Start > run > 'command' (minus the ') > if it doesn't say c:\, then type : 'cd'.

Then 'ren (insert file name here).mpg (file name again).mp3 ? hit enter, then type 'exit'.

Should work, assuming I explained it properly

Go into your folder options, make sure you show full file extensions (so everything is file.mp3, file.mpg, file.txt, file.html) .. etc.

click on the file.
hit the F2 key.
rename to file.mp3

voila.

Or right click on the file and go open with-> the program that you use to listen to mp3s. You might have to browse for it.
