Lightbulb need help with fruity

ive tried to search but i wasnt shure what i wanted to search on but oh well, been there done that.

I need help with my songs, when i finish a song and export it as a mp3 i always think it sounds "fake" and to far away from how the pro's make it sound, sure ive only been using fruity for like 3-4 months.

Ive tried eq with each sound and reverb with each sound and not so all the instruments chare one fx channel.
Im trying to find that warm and busy feeling that most of the pros has.

the song that comes with this post shows what i mean, it basicly sounds plastic imo.

btw: the song is unfinito, but i wouldnt be happy if people used my theme, and if you recognise the theme give me the song name so i can listen to it and cry ah well enought with excuses.

It probably because the sounds you are using do not fit well together or becasue you are missing a main element, like the bassline. 3-4 months is not that long, so you got a long way to go. Also try exporting to .wav rather than .mp3

Try uploading a sample somewhere too. You can't do it here if you were trying.

It could also bee your samples, some samples are crappy compared to what you want to hear... it could also be something that I haven't dealt with yet. compression.... overall give yourself some time... I'm still going on 5 months and need allot still

Yes, if you want to get alot of those standard samples that you are prolly using to sound right alot of compression, EQ etc has do be done and you need to know what you are doing. I recommend reading tutorials on this kind of thing, try
www.computermusic.co.uk, there is some great stuff there. It could be an idea to buy a quality sample CD aswell.

When just starting out it's always hard to get a decent sound out of the standard instruments when just tweaking with the presets. This is where knowledge of basic synth fundementals come in handy, study presets and experiment.. You also might want to invest in a decent VST synth... It's hard to get a nice rich sound out of a cheap synth, your really need to know what your doing.. (This isnt such a bad thing, but I know how fustrating it can be!)

Also listen to heaps of music, figure out drum patterns.. Learn music theory... Play classical music

Most of all never give up, just keep on belting out tunes.. getting decent results doesnt happen in a few months from just starting, it takes many years of practice to get to the stage you are asking for. (Every time I listen to a 'hit' I constantly remind myself how far I still have to go!)

Good luck dude.

The only thing you said that makes me wonder is that it sounds this way after you export to mp3.... Does the song sound good BEFORE you export to mp3, like when you're playing it live with fruity? If so, change your bitrate or just try wav.
