Downtime In Sets

I'm curious to know what some of you do when you're spinning in front of an audience and you've got some downtime in your set. For instance, say it takes you 30 seconds to mix in the song you have coming up next. You've got another 3:30 left on the record playing before you want to bring the next song in. What do you do during those 3 minutes?

I've heard stories of some DJs (Sasha + Digweed, on seperate occasions) actually go out to the floor and dance!

Listen to the two tracks running together over and over and over again to make 100% sure that they are synced up properly ... other than that, feel free to go crazy behind the decks ... or go take a leak (if the track is really long) ... hehe.

Yes, nature breaks are a good thing for those "quiet" times!

Hehe. I've done that, when I got extra time, and it's a really bangin' track, I'll take a quick little go-round on the dance floor.

Generally when I'm practicing I'll just sip on a coke, dance, or screw with the next upcoming track and make sure everything is going to go the way I want it to. I'm playing a party in a few weeks though so I wanted to make sure I didn't bore people or look retarded.

This is a funny topic. One question I have for all you djs is if it's weird to make eye contact w/ the crowd? Some djs seem to love it, but others will rarely look up. I don't get it.
