Third deck for Acapellas and turntablism...

I currently own 2 technics 1200s mk2s and am looking into buying myself a third deck for acapellas, 3 song mixing, and maybe evn some turntablism. I'm thinking of going with some cheap used direct drive turntable (like Gmeini xl-500) but will that do for scratching or does its weak torque make that impossible to use? Also will the pitch waver with acapellas? Keep in mind I just said gemini xl-500 as an example I'm open to ideas, and would like to hear some of yours

keep in mind I'm at uni and money is very tight so getting another mk2 looks like its out of the question.

i used to spin on three deck when i spun techno. you'll really want to get another tech, or a pdx2000. cheap decks don't scratch well at all.

Yeah, you want a good deck for scratching. Perhaps a TTX1?

You will definitly want something of quality especially if you are going to try and layer an acapella over top. The longer you keep two tracks going, the better quality pitch precision you need. If you want to get something less expensive, maybe you should look into one of the higher level Geminis or Stantons.

Good Luck, I plan on doing something similar in the near future.

for scratching you may want to check out a straight arm tt.. maybe some stanton STR8 series. go str8-80 or better though. they arent too expensive but have strong torque (all more than techs except str8-80) and keep a steady pitch with the same wow & flutter
