BPM Question

Do most DJs pump the bpm higher and higher as the set goes on?
Do you?

As I transition from house/prog to uplifting in my set, I find it almost a necessity. If so then is it done during the breaks? or when?

sometimes as i go on playing a set i'll increrease the speed. you can do it anytime really as long as you just make tiny, tiny increases. and yes the break downs are a good time to increase the speed. increasing the speed through out the set is a good way to make a progressive set seem even more progressive. cheers.

I just start off with fast tracks so I don;t need to speed it up during the set. I start with one, and all the rest of my tracks are almost all the way up on the pitch shifter. I think if you keep it one speed all the time it's easier for the people to get into the groove

I usually start with tracks of about 134 bpm. I play a few tracks within the range of 134 - 136 bpm. Then I get a track that starts off slow(134) but ends off kinda quick(138-139). So, actually, yes, I use a BPM buildup

depends what i am spinning. Usually I try to stay at the same BPM (may change by 1, but i dont know really... dont use beat counters ) Sometimes if I am doing a long set, I will start the first hour off with some progressive / house that is around 130BPM and as the crowd losens up I will start to drop some trance music that is around 138-140 BPM.

I used to always spin at the same speed, no matter what tune I started off with, that way I could learn roughly which speed to put each tune at... but these days I usually start off at whatever speed i want, if I'm starting with proggy tunes and moving on to more banging trance I usually make subtle changes, like up it just a tiny bit on each tune
