HappyHappy Numark Matrix 3 good or bad choice?

Was looking into getting the Matrix 3 and needed to know if anybody has used it and what they thought about it.I can get it for $204.00 and figured for the price i couldn't go wrong. But if it sucks hairy monkey nuts than i won't bother.

it sucks when u make a transition. the matrix 3 is only good if your gonna scratch hip hop or sometin, just my opinion. its hard to make a transition with trance with the matrix 3.

if you're mixing trance or anything other then hip hop or something like that you should be using your up faders for the transitions not the crossfader. you have so much more control if you use your up faders.

yes i know but the up faders dont make much of a difference with the crossfader, the transition will almost sound the same. using the master eq's might work. the only reasoni got rid of my matrix 3 bcuz the transitions werent smooth when i try to start the mix into track B.

i'm sorry, i don't understand what you're saying. when i said just use the up faders i meant that you leave the crossfader in the center position the entire time and use nothing but the up faders, never touching the crossfader. then you don't have to worry about the cut in time of the crossfader and you have a lot more control over your transition.

well i also meant the same thing, the up faders will work just like the crossfader when u make a transistion.

[ Ques ]

Like I said in another post...

The SMX-401 is the pretty much the same thing as the Stanton RMS-THREE...

Numark Matrix-3 is an okay mixer for a beginning DJ but I would rather choose the SMX-401/RMS-Three. I dislike the X-Fader, because it isn't as loose. I like a loose feel for faster cuts and tricks. The Matrix-3 X-Fader feels more like a CHANNEL/VOLUME fader to me.

For some reason, Numark's mixers ( the em-360 & em-460) seem to have a problem with the headphone jack and its sound output. Don't know if you Numark owners have had this problem...

I have a matrix3. No problems with it. I've been able to make some tight mixes with my mixer, so I'm not complaining.

What do you mean by the headphone jack on the Numark. I've noticed sometimes when I plug my headphones in I only get sound in one, but other thatn that it's fine.

Uh, i wouldn't call it fine if you only get sound in one. Lol, maybe you just don't plug it all the way in, i do that sometimes hehe.

i agree though, the matrix3 crossfader is useless.
