mixing a cd

i have been playing with acid pro for coupla years now and not so long ago i finally got frutty loops and bunch of other proggies
but my question is whats the best way to arrange tracks on cd for house/trance or similar mix i mean to make it sound like whole piece
do i build up to the mid of a mix and then play softer tracks in the end or do i mix in more intense tracks with coupla slower ones inbetween
cuz i red in dj section that once a good track is played people get tired of dancing and sitdown so in short is there any song arrangement that works best for people that are dancing

You can't learn that by just reading forums.

You have to have a crowd in front of you, to which you can react and see what they are doing.. In this way, it's kinda useless.

Oh yeah, and in the 21st century, interpunction has already been invented

If you're talking about track selection then fruityloops and other similar sequencing programs are going to do you no good. The only way to really get a grip on track selection is experience. Listen to full length mixes from other DJs and learn from what they do. It takes a lot of time and an intimate knowledge of a lot of songs.

Basically, what people are referring to about people getting tired is that a lot of the higher energy trance tracks have big breakdowns and buildups in them. If you play a bunch of these in a row it gets annoyingly boring. What you want to do is keep the audience guessing, give them a different feel every now and then. Keep the mix clean and smooth but also keep it interesting. And there are a million different ways to make the energy flow in a set. Experiment with it, high to low, low to high, gradual with a swell at the peak of the mix, etc... you can't go wrong because even if it doesn't sound good one time it is still a valuable learning experience.
