for example: is 218.80.11 and 218.80.05 from the same computer?
is 61.171.6 and 61.171.88 or whatever random number.

i need to know ASAP

Not in your case, but something like

192.168.1.1
192.168.1.2

Then yes because the first two digits usually means that it is being run on a private network.

But in your case the first two digits being the same means that they are most likely using the same ISP(Internet Service Provider such as AOL, MSN, Earthlink, etc.....) and maybe even in the same area but no not the same computer or private network.

ehhh still not the same computer... a ip is unique and only belong to one computer... of course a computer can have many nics but that is unlikely...

well youre right, but if they were dynamic ip addresses then they could both have belonged to the same computer, but at the same time without nics, unlikely.

yeah you are right too you can't really know for sure...

anyway... it's hard to find wheather they belong to the sampe comp or not if you don't contact the isp...

why did you want to know?

the subnet mask is what you go by. My IP addresses internally are 10.0.0.1 which doesnt exist as all class A subnets have been taken. The scope of IPs very greatly, and if it is 1 computer you are worried about do a traceroute and get the mac address.
