Now its become apparnt to the powers at be, the MP3 is not going anywhere, many record labels have decided to try and embrace it by offering their entire backcatalouge, and no doubt all their next releases as digital downloads (.mp3's) for like £1 ($1.5 / E1.5).

Although if u know where to look, u can still get all their backcatalouge, and future releases for free, will u do the right thing and pay for them?

i won't be paying for mp3s, im sure my contribution to the vinyl market somewhat makes up for it

I'm keeping my money for albums and whatnot, not mp3 downloads. Downloading only gives you a compressed version of the song. I'm not going to pay for that compressed stuff. If I want to buy something and rip it myself, then I'm going to buy a tangible album. No way am I going to pay for something that's not the full quality.

I would if they didn't offer a lossy format, that's the main thing stopping me.

Honestly no. Rather go vinyl, even if it costs a fortune, has worse sound quality (i know this is discutible, but i prefer the clearness of digital format), can be damaged easily, etc.

I'd might consider buying FLAC's or WAV's though, because of the quality, but as i still have 'the dream' of becoming a dj, downloading tracks somehow doesn't give you credibility vinyl gives, even if it's full quality and legal. General mentalities may change in the future so it's something i may consider.

I will d/l for free because I buy the vinyl/cd if it's good

I won't pay. My contribution to the scene is buying vinyls and mp3's help me to know what vinyls to buy.
