Bloody Poms

A trophy to the man who breaks Johnny England's Left leg. He's single handedly ruined the game of Rugby Union with his pathetic field goals.

bloody whinging aussies

i believe we scored as many tries as you this morning/last night, ours was a better 'rugby' try as well, but i forgot... we can't score tries! haha...

I have to say though, you boys didn't lack conviction.. but thats never been a problem has it?

Yeh, because no one ever kicked penalties or drop goals before Wilkinson came along besides, you took the same number of penalty attempts as we did in the final, the mans already got a trophy as of last night, he doesn't need another
We played just as fluent rugby as you did, you played well, kept your composure in the second half, but so did we, would've had a couple more tries if it hadn't been for handling errors.
The best team came out victorious in the end

Twas a pretty tough time to be a dual national. :-/

I honestly didn't give a shit who won (doubled by the fact that, up until this world cup, I'd hardly watched a game of rugby in my life - one of the many benefits of being a Victorian ) but what I couldn't stand was the bullshit invective coming from both sides during the world cup and leading up into the final. It was primarily media based, but still, the kinda shit that was being written (by both the Australian and English media) about the other side was shocking. I think the English and the Australians are more similiar than we'd care to acknowledge, yet based on what I've seen and read from journalists from both sides, you'd think we'd been at war with each other for decades. So a big "fuck you" to both the English and Australian press who transcended the normally jocular way in which we get stuck into each other and transformed it into humourless national warfare.

Yet, having said that, congratulations to England and bad luck to Australia. Both played well (based on what I know about rugby ) and I'm sure we'll all agree that it was a good game and it was a shame there had to be a loser. Hopefully all the parochial dickheads will shut up for another four years and we can put all this behind us.... until the ashes of course.

Well said, i totally agree. I love australia and the aussies after having been there for about 6 months. So right, shame there had to be a loser. I have the highest level of respect for both sides.

to be fair, there is no comparison between the way the aussie media reported and the way the english media reported.

i'm not even gonna bother with the ashes, the australian cricket team is phenomenal.

I disagree very much so. As much as rugby is a full on physical sport, kicking and accuracy is vital as it brings a different element in the gane.

For a team to have such a good goal kicker as johnny wilkinson is vital to their performance.

I think England played a very good game of rugby and deserved to win.

but what would I know.. im south african after all
