thanks for the obvious. if you read the question you might realize i understand a thing or too about how to write an image reference. not that its needed to answer the question i asked, which you didnt do, but the php script *generates* the jpg from multiple random elements, creating a random signature that is unique per reference.

placebo, the return on the reference IS really an image. do you know if the script parse's reference tags in IMG calls? if so, i could probably just drop a jpg in the file name and fool the forum script into calling my script.
everyone else, if you dont know whats going on,dont post. if i figure this out, i'll post a mighty cool, easy to use applet that composes unique signatures based on elements and placements when i finish writing it.
