It has to be able to hook up to my computer VIA...USB,FIREWIRE,MIDI..etc.. Also are there any that connect to DJM 600's? Please keep it at $210.00 or below. All other suggestions will be accepted Drum machines,Beat machines, etc...etc... Thanks for the help guys!

210.

Basically with this budget you wont be able to get much. In my opinion, if you are planning to buy a synth, 1000 to 2000 dollars should be around your minimum. Otherwise you are just producing crap, which is fine while learning, but will be a waste of money in the long run.

So, obviously you have a computer, and a decent one if you have a firewire card... so in my opinion you would wont to get yourself a MIDI Controller. If you dont know what this is, run a search in the forums for MIDI Controller, or on google. You can get a MidiMan Oxygen 8 for around 150-200 dollars. The Oxygen is a great buy, you get 2 octaves, 8 knobs, pich bend and mod wheel, connects via USB, can run with an AC adapter, or using the usb to power it. Awesome controller. Or if you are wanting something a step up, the Radium is a great buy. Got mine for 250. 4 octaves, 8 sliders, 8 knobs, pitch and mod, i love it.

you might be able to grab a cheap drum machine, or a cheap sampler or something, but you wont be able to learn any real production skills with those. If you can get ahold of a sequencer program like Reason, Loogic, or FruityLoops, and buy a midicontroller, you will have more than enough to be able to learn how to produce.

And go from there. Be warned though, learning this skill takes time. Years. So don't get into it thinking you will be making awesome stuff right away.

But its the funnest thing in the world once you start making things you like.

Thanx

Yeah, I wish my MOM was rich (LOL).Thanx for the info.I know it's gonna take time. But I am willing to learn. So your saying I can't even get a 200$ Casio KEYBOARD? Well.. AS for Computers? That's endless. I have 3-Servers 2-have a gig of ram. 1 of them has 512 thats the one i use it's like 1.6ghz USB2.0/FIREWIRE/64MB Nvidia. So... computers being fast enough isnt an issue for me.

The thing is, any kind of keyboard you buy that has soundbanks on it already, will suck shit below the 1000 dollar mark. So the only use you would get out of a $200 casio is if it can double as a midi controller.

So you have all the computer power you need eh? Thats a huge advantage, once you get into production you will see how much system resources are consumed with all the VSTs you will be running. Some soft synths just eat your system up.

My advice, straight up, buy a midi controller. Grab an Oxygen 8, you will not regret it. I also recommend learning on FruityLoops, but we WONT get into that.... haha.
