has anyone ever replaced the cross fader by themselves? if so is it really complex, or it a pretty simple fix?

its pretty easy, take off the slider cap, remove the 2 screws on the faceplate (not the silder plate) first... then take out the slider unit...

don't suppose anyone knows how much a crossfader unit costs? I have a djm-300 sitting around. Could I just yank the fader out of that and put it in the 500?
