Alright here is for my real review now that I am sober and not sleepy =)
Emil,Greg and I arrived at the Riviera about 11 p.m. got in the doors and Ian James was on. Great set, but a bit too breakish for me. I ran into a ton of the old school Atlanta party kids that I have ran around with for years which it was sooooo great to see them. About 12 something I was standing at the bar and Hybrid with the band comes on. They opened with "Kill City", they even played the male vocal version of "If I Survive" which I can honestly say I'm more fond of the female vocals in that song. They played a lot of track of Hybrid- "Morning Sci-Fi" the newest album. They sounded great and it was such a pleasure to see them. They eneded the Live PA with "Finished Symphony" which I have waited years to hear them play that live. It was unbelivable. I'll try and get to editing my pictures today if not sometime this week. The club cleared out after the Live PA which was stupid to do, they were doing a DJ set afterwards. I did get to talk to them and they said they will be coming to Atlanta more which makes me very happy. Gavin their is a picture of Mike's hand with your name on it. I think it's on Greg's camera. all and all another great night in the ATL. Thanks Emil for letting me use your extra spot on the list. We left about 4 because I was drunk and needed sleep. Next week is Dave Seaman and I cannot wait for another night of hanging with my Atlanta TA Family =)
Much Love and Hugs,
LeeAnn

Great Night! Live PA tons better than the DJ Set. they played for only 1:15 tho. The DJ set was good as far as mixing. just not my choice in tracklisting. I liked their set at 1150 last year a lot more. but the live PA was crazy. I have some good video clips and some pics also ill try to upload for all.
oh and LeAnn: we left at 4 because thats when the club closes...hihi

Here is my review on Hybrid's performance last night:
I have seen Hybrid live p.a. twice during Winter Music Conference...once in 1999 and once in 2001 and let me tell you this, the live p.a. was much better back then. Deeper, more crowd building...and held the ENERGY of the dancefloor.
The concert style format had a lot to do with my thoughts....announcing things like "this next song..." breaks up the flow of the evening and takes away from the overall Hybrid experience that I have been privy to in prior years.
The addition of two new members with guitars...sounded very pop'esque to me, and the vocals reminded me of a cross between Coldplay and Radio Head. I did however like some of the older material...Finished Symphony being my favorite, and a great way to close out the evening...but overall It was just O.K.
I expected a lot more from Hybrid to be honest...and I was left wishing the WMC style, dancefloor decimating live p.a. without the guitars and pop vocals were in effect last night

I had a great time, one of the best sets I've heard. Great, energetic crowd, and I found Riviera to be seemingly more relaxed than e50. Got to meet Adam and the rest of Hybrid afterwards; great group!
Sherri @ GA State: should you read this, thanks again.
