I've been working at Telstra's main exchange in Melboune last few days and there seems to be nothing out of the ordinary happening in the computer rooms apart from even more cisco stuff going in.
That place is a bloody fortress, NO ONE gets in or out unless they are really meant to be there.
Been working in the main computer floor, I have never seen so many routers, switches, core routers, patch panels, firewalls, servers and one totally massive SUN server. Like this thing has 12 HUGE electricity plugs going to it, a shit load of processor modules and disk storage that you only dream of. This was also linked to two cabinets of Compaq disks, 8 in a cabinet, each disk has 6 78GB Ultra SCSI disks in it.... I mean, wtf? what they trying to store??? Answer: The White and Yellow pages and more.
Up until yesterday I thaught these places only existed in organisations such as the NSA. How wrong I was.

Are you guys sure about this? I rang Telstra and they said although it will not show up on the meter during this time, anything you download will still show up, just not for a few days.
