Armin: Progressive/ Trance with a tip of techno and techhouse

HKClubbing.com: How do your sets differ from your radio show to live performances around the world?

Armin: The first hour of my radio show is called “ the newest tunes selected”, so bascially any tune that fits and I came across recently. The second hour is always a more progressive non-stop in the mix. My live performances are based on the atmosphere in a club plus my own preference. I don’t think my radio show is very different from my live sets.

HKClubbing.com: What's your best memorable gig worldwide for 2003 and what made it so?

Armin: I have a couple of very memorable gigs. At this level of DJ-ing it’s a pleasure to play for any crowd. Each gig has its own good thing. A few gigs are extra special: Sensation, dance valley, my 76 tour in America and the two Tribes tour in Australia.

HKClubbing.com: Is there anything special planned for 2004 already, like a tour for example?

Armin: I’ll be doing an Armin Only tour in Australia. Apart from that, I’ll be working hard on my second album.

HKClubbing.com: What is your opinion on music availability on the internet?

Armin: It’s illegal to download music off the internet if you didn’t pay for the download. You are copying copyrighted material for which artists and record companies invested a lot of time, money and effort. In the Berner convention a lot of countries agreed on this and therefore I think it’s a crime if you do copy. On the other hand: I know I wouldn’t be as popular as I am today without all the downloads. My music reaches people that wouldn’t normally listen to it.

HKClubbing.com: How will you be involved in the The Rockacademy in Tilburg, Netherlands?

Armin: I will help the school to write plans for the educations. Nothing more.

HKClubbing.com: Finally, what should the people of Hong Kong expect on the 13th of December from you?

Armin: A great night with great music!
