Canada = Biggets Downloaders
I was just reading "Report on Business Magazine" and they had an interview with the President of Sony Music Canada. She was saying that when Napster was around Canada was the biggest downloading happy country per capita. Which means, per person, Canada downloaded the most music. Can you believe that?
They contributed it to the fact that per capita we have the most high speed connections in the world. That i do believe, because i dont know very many people who still use dial up.
Also, our annual sales of CDR's($150million) is three times our sale of prerecorded music ie store bought cds ($50million).
This is nuts! CDRs are soo cheap and yet we still buy a shit load! I know i am guilty of this, cause i dont buy less than 100 at a time for about 25-35 bucks.
Just thought you might find that interesting.

Actually no.
per capita doesn't make us the biggest offenders...
Consider: We (US and Canada) have roughly the same percentage of internet users but we have 1/10th their population...

ok ok...yes the US does have more users, but then by that accord they or china could win any argument because of their size. You have to do it in percentage or per capita to see how much each person is contributing. Cause then small countries like say...singapore would be blown out of the water cause of a small population base.
an example:
When people are talking about GDP(gross domestic product) how rich the country is, they did it in per capita baisis, to see how rich each person is.
cause if you compare india and canada it would very close to see who is richer, but you know that the average individual in india is much poorer than a person in canada.

So what you meant to say was that we were the biggest offenders by capital not just the biggest offenders...
Yea I'm splitting hairs but in the Internet world you are what you type

Well this makes a lot of sense to me. Considering that 75% of the people of our country live in major cities and so therefore have access to hi-speed internet --- (better than any country in the world), Per capita we would be the biggest downloaders.
There's not a single person I know who has a computer at home that doesn't have hi-speed of some sort (actually 1...but she's changing soon )
