Mixing Desks

I had a look around for threads on this but as we are mostly software based here I couldnt find many threads.

Anyway Whats a good, cheep mixing desk.

Ive seen the Mackie cfx range, looks pretty basic and esay to use. I know there are ones with up to 20 Mono's or is that 10 stereo's I dunno, but Im not sure about how many Sub busses the smaller ones have etc.
There is also the yamaha 01v, which Im guessing is digital and alot more expensive.
What ones you guys recommend. cheapish ones

I thought Behringer did budget mixing desks? However, I have not yet got to the stage of final mix down so havent looked into it properly. The other thing I heard is a good mixing desk is T-Racks but thats software - and again I dont know much about it.

T-Racks is a mastering program I think. I use Sound Forge myself for that. As for mixers, it really depends on what you need and how much you got to spend. Behringer make some cheapo's but I think they make some good ones as well.

Damie, just out of curiosity, is this because you want/need a mixer or just because you are interested, because I didn't think you had any hardware.

Well cheggy, I just got a Roland JP8080 of ebay

Now I was reading somewhere that too much audio within your computer can overfill the audio 'Bucket'in your machine, sometimes. So its good to have a mixer for that too. Plus I had a goo with the makie and I realised I liked one.

I might just get the Logic midi contoller though, those things are awesome.

I know.
A pro engineer told me that too much audio coming from one aignal can cause slight distortion, because it can only take so much dynamics. Like a bucket overflowing with water. Running things/sections through a mixer seperates them a little, I dunno.
