DJ/Studio Headphones - Sony V6 Vs Senn HD-280p

Hmm...now that I own both of these, I'll do a bit of a comparison.

I've heard the major pioneer headphones and sony v-600's as well as these. I really don't like the "DJ" intended kind of studio headphone as the sound spectrum is usually fairly unbalanced in them. Some people do really like that though, and I won't argue if you do.

Sony V6 - Nice sounding, though not very linear in reponse. Strong bass overtones. Light isolation. Heavy metal design, seems durable, little plastic. Highs fairly good sounding. Clean mids. Fairly comfortable and easy on the ears, though can become somewhat irritant if you keep them on for 6+ hours (unusual, though).
Sennheiser HD280 Pro's - VERY linear sounding. Those of you who dig extreme amounts of bass will hate these; though, the bass is there, and it is well defined. Highs are very crisp and clear, and makes some MP3 compression fatiguing to my ears. Mids nice and balanced. Mostly plastic design, though it feels sturdy. VERY high isolation. They seem to grip your head very tightly as well.

For me...I think I like the 280's better, just because I hardly ever use bass for mixing and prefer to stick to stuff mostly above 1000 hz or so. They're both fairly solid headphones. For people who like coloured sound but feel most of the DJ headphone line out there is _too_ coloured, I'd reccommend the V6's.

I just got my 280's yesterday and they are awesome. I had the v700's and besides being dirty sounding the joint broke just by me taking them off. the senns are very comfortable and even though they are bulky but after a few minutes they just seemed to melt away, also they completly cover my ears and kill alot of the background noise. plus $100.00 is a great price.

*feels happy for, for the most part, singlehandedly (well, occassionally, one other head-fier contributes...) introducing the 280's to this forum*

So, has anyone gotten the silver version? And has anyone here even THOUGHT of getting an amp to open up options for more headphones, for DJing, studio work, or otherwise? (mmmm.... Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's... aren't called "the king of bass" for nothing... )
