LOL, you know those are bullshit. They're just popup advertisements, they mean nothing at all.
I highly doubt you have a virus or that anyone can actually see your files, but Norton A/V will take care of that if you do. For now, I'd suggest you just tell Ad-Aware to remove everything it finds.
A "browser hijack attempt" might be a BHO (Browser Helper Object) - they're these things like the Google toolbar, for example, that disguise themselves as "addons" to your browser and track where you go and give you annoying popups and stuff. These aren't viruses though, just spyware, so if Ad-Aware is offering to get rid of them, say yes.
