Turntable problems - Pitch control

Ok does anyone have problems with their pitch control...i mean with my crap-ass Stantons it used to be fine until now.

Problem is the song gets beatmatched and so on, while its being mixed, the song all of a sudden speeds a tiny bit up ( i can notice the song going a bit off beat) so i quickly fix it up by nudging it back to slow it down...everything is fine THEN the song automatically slows down...so i gotta nudge it forward.

Ok in this process i'm not even touching the pitch-control.

Does everyone have these problems??? or is it just my crappy Stantons...

and yes i'm saving for Techs so i don't have to go through this problem, but until then i have to use this.

I think your TTs are just really worn out Time to buy new ones I guess..

Haven't had it with my PT2400s (but they're only 15 months old). How old are your tables?

They are Stanton STR-30s (very crap) and theyre about 6-7 months old.

It really pisses me off though, i need Techs but it's too expensive atm.

i had some tech 12's that had gotten some shiznit spilled in them where the pitch from 0 -> +2 was like that. had to just replace the pitch slider. can try that, but i know finding parts for tech12's is pretty easy, dunno 'bout your tables.

is that STR-30s belt drive? or direct drive???

is its belt drive,,, maybe you just need to change your belt for a new one,and if its direct drive, youneed to change your pitch control.. but i dont think you can do that with a stanton

also it may just be the wow and flutter of your TTs..

wow and flutter is the speed that the platter will vary when at a set pitch adjustment. if the wow & flutter is 0.01%, it will vary 0.01% from the current speed setting. (that is what the techs have, making them very accurate) i can imagine that the str8-30s have a higher wow & flutter (considering that the str8-80s have 0.20%..)

it is direct drive, so dont worry about a belt. i would see if you can change the pitch adjust..

but dont worry if the table has a high wow & flutter, it is not capable of holding the same speed without wavering alot. so yeah.. that is why you may be experiencing the speed changes. good luck

Yeh the +10 and -10 Pitch control thing really removes the accuracy, Tech users don't know what the trouble Stanton users have to go through

But the thing is despite the shocking pitch numbers, i bring it down to a very accurate beatmatch, now this is the beginning of the mix, when everything is reaching the second breakdown and such, for some reason the speed just changes....so i gotta start beatmatching from beginning.

If it's still under warranty will they fix the slider? or will they tell me "wear and tear" again.
