I am having problems with Windows Media Player. First off I was using windows 7.0, then I updated to 7.1, When I was using 7.0 it was playing all filetypes except .m2v which was really no problem. Well anywayz, after I installed 7.1, it started acting up when I tried to play .mpg/.mpeg files, It would say "This Pin cannot use the supplied media type". I can hear music but the popup that sais that still stays and when I close it so does the music from the video. Now, I have installed several codecs and it still doesnt work. I even reinstalled version 7.0 and it's still messed up. Can some-1 please tell me how how I can fix this?

Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Windows Setup

See if u can re-install or remove it from there

I dunno, are you using the divx codec?

err, JayD...r u trying to play .m2v files on 7.1 or normal .mpg/.avi files??

if it's .m2v, then u need to follow Swamper's instructions on installing Elecard MPEG2 Player

otherwise, if it's normal files...ya i think a reinstall would be worth trying
