It's a mix... pretty brand new club so the finishing is nice. I've seen nicer, I've definitely seen worse. The sound system is pretty good. I can't really rate one clubs' sound system vs. anothers'. There are all good when they are that loud! Let's put it this way... Sasha is a top notch DJ... he wouldn't be playing at some crap hole on NYE, and wouldn't be getting $60 a ticket, right? The people are okay as well... it's NYC so you'll get a little of every stereotype you could imagine.
You'll have a good time, I'm sure.

Well duh!
I have seen sasha.
I am not concerned with having a good time.
I heard crazy things like Avalon hires models to stand around and look pretty. And that their dress code is strict. This is what I meant when I asked about atmosphere and such.

I had no problem getting in with my Air Max. I saw alot of people with sneakers, everyone I was with was wearing them. There were alot of guys there wearing those stupid 'Von Douche' trucker hats. It was a relaxed dress code. If you're paying $70 a ticket, I dont think they really care what you're wearing.

by the same token, i was wearing my adidas and long sleeve ecko for oakenfold. i felt really really out of place, what with everyone wearing button downed shirts and nice shoes of some sort. if u want to find out their exact dress code, call them up the day of or something and ask. i was impressed with the sound system at avalon. it was easy on the ears, much like arc's is. it's very very hard to move around with narrow walkways and things. main floor was unbelievably packed. pretty nice crowd, but i saw two fights within the three hours i was there heh so i don't know what that says. the light system was impressive too... two sets of lights on movable tracks hanging from the ceiling above. it's a nice club i'll admit. my experience was dulled by the fact that oakenfold played only two hours and didn't play such a hot set. oh well, avalon's nice. heh. still felt out of place going really casual.

Yeah I wore a button down shirt, nice jeans, and pumas. I wouldn't go in there with air jordan's and track pants. Don't put on a suit either. Stop worrying about it and have fun!
